I'm back!!!
My power went out around 4:30 PM (just like everyone else, I guess) and came back on at around 9:30 or 10PM. Cleveland still doesn't have power. I'm about 40 miles west of Cleveland.
The front of my house gets alot of evening sun and gets really hot and stays that way until around midnight......I'm glad it came on when it did. I feel sorry for those that still don't have power.
I was thinking of sleeping outside where it's a little cooler. Glad I didn't have to.
My neighbor ran a line from his generator over to my house so I could keep the fridge cold........mmmmmm...cold beer!! :bouncy:

Yeah, tough deal for everyone that was(or still is) involved in the blackout.
Of all things, my son is supposed to be going to NYC for his birthday today. His girlfriend had planned a surprise trip up there. I just hope they check out the places they were supposed to go to see if the places are even open today, before they bother heading up there. They say that 2/3 of NY is still without power and that sounds like a mess to be avoided if you ask me.

mine went out at 4:30. I was outside washing my caddy when i did and i had no idea. I eneded up using all the water up in the pipes... oops. lol.

It didnt go back on till 12:30 am. It was hot as hell in my room all night, I havent showred since wed night at 8:30, but i went swimming in a friends pool last night ot freshen up. To entertain myself, I played scrabble with my parents last night under candle light.... I got my ass handed to me in that game... ever ty to make a word with the following letters: KSOOOIUA? I kept getting vowels.

anyway, time to go to work in the heat... at least its not humid too!

Re: Hope you New Yorkers are OK!

Ha, had to change the titles because i don't like the yankees...

Anyway, as soon as i heard about what areas the power went off in, I figured that something must be going on in the Niagara falls area. The affected grid is obviously surrounding Niagara falls and since NYC gets all its power from there and so does toronto, detroit, cleveland...it was my initial thought.

Now I'm thinking, why the hell can't they diagnose what went wrong. The ruled out terrorism at the beginning, and we all hope it wasn't, but how can they make that ruling if they don't even know what caused the problem.

Anyway, I'm going to Niagara falls tonight on my way to Michigan in the CAD-ILL-LAC and I'm hoping there will be power by then in those areas. Funny how coincidences work

PEACE

Whats happened there, in US?
We lost a whole lot of power :D.....

Anyway, in new york, and as far west as detroit, the power has been out for a long time...... Basically all of manhattan was out, and that is a big deal......

Apparently, a power plant in Ottowa (stupid canadians :D ) had to shut down, and it overloaded the other plants in the area, so they had to shut down those also, to keep them from 'splodin.......
