I know this sounds weird but, before you completely discard the idea, try to visualize it first. I think the 2gen CTS fender vents look cool but not on the V1. I also think I need to get some hot air from under the hood. So I thought about using those vents on the hood. Close to the fenders an windshield. While searching, I see the Buick Regal GS has them, so maybe I'm not that crazy. What do you guys think?

I'm copying links to the pics, since it's kind of a pain attaching pics here :

 If you're already copying-and-pasting links, it's quite simple to attach a picture here. Just put
after and you're done.

Tadaaaa! Note that only works for an actual picture link (something that ends with ".jpg" or some other image extension); your middle link won't work as-is, but if you cut off the extra crap after the ".jpg" it works fine.

As for the hood venting, I've had the same idea. I have a pair of vents from an old late '80s turbo Trans Am, and have considered using those in the same location you're thinking of. See here - http://www.cadillacforums.com/forum...arance/210832-so-maybe-ill-just-make-diy.html (some of the picture links are dead, but the pics of the Trans Am vents near the rear corners of the hood are still there).

Thanks for the help. Greatly appreciated. Really good thread too. Good info. So basically, your idea of the Trans Am vents is the same I have with the V2 vents. I'll see if I can find a set and start from there. I think it would look nice. Kind of like in the Regal.

Please continue with your efforts. I am waiting to get back from Taiwan and work out something along the same lines. It gets surface-of-the-sun-hot in lower Alabama and I also feel extracting heat from the engine bay would help out. I'm doing a repaint soon and would like to have a hood mod done before I do the repaint.
