I have not been able to pair my 2025 Optiq Homelink with my recent model 7155D Genie garage door opener. I went through all of the steps in the manual and infotainment setup pages and eventually contacted Homelink. They had me perform multiple attempts that all failed. To confirm that the opener would accept pairing, they had me attempt pairing with a Genie remote. This did not work apparently because they did not provide the correct pairing instructions. They told me to contact Genie. When I used the correct Genie pairing instructions, the Genie remote paired correctly, confirming that the issue was not a Genie problem. I again tried pairing Homelink and the process failed. So I went back to Homelink and they tried to get me to do all of the steps over again. When I told them I had done all the steps multiple times they punted to the dealer to check for software updates. Ugh.

I've searched the web and everything I find is for the pre-Optiq Infotainment system Homelink implementation (the ones with the three buttons in the overhead). Has anyone, especially Genie owners, had success programming their Homelink with their garage door openers? (Homelink in our 2028 CTS worked correctly with this opener.)

Had to Google what "D mode" was... :unsure:
Hope that does the trick!
I tried the D Mode (which is described in the manual as an "if the normal process doesn't work" thing) but better defined in the on-screen instructions explicitly as the D Mode. I tired it twice and it didn't work, but then I went back (frustrated as all heck) and tried the normal process and kept punching the living daylights out of the "test" button. It finally took. Problem solved. The garage icon now shows in the system tray, along with other icons like the glove box.

Thanks for the moral support.

TL/DR synopsis ---> 18 inches!

Just bought my Optiq two days ago and this morning I decided to program the garage door remote. Right then I realized that I had NOT erased my garage code from the car I traded in, so I decided to first erase all the codes from my opener and start over.

First, I erased the opener's memory. Yes I know how to do that. Then I programmed the mirror button on my 2017 GMC Acadia. Success -- first try. Then I programmed the wall-mounted keypad on the side of my house. Again, success on the first try. Then I programmed the handheld remote that I keep on a hook in the house. Again, first try. I'm telling you all this so you know that, yes, I do know how to do it.

Lastly, let's try the Optiq. Half hour later--no success. Couldn't get it to accept "D" programming, "UR" programming, and wouldn't recognize my handheld remote (even though I got the message "signal found").

But then amazingly I got it to work. How? Here's what worked for me. The instructions say that when you use an existing handheld remote to program the car you're supposed to hold the remote one-to-three inches from the mirror when you push the button. I tried that over and over. No go. Then finally I tried it again but I held the remote more like 18 inches from the mirror. Instant success! :love:

So there ya go. Ignore the 1-3 inches instructions. Go long!
