Jtjuilli, what speed did your noise occur at, and did they fix it? We have a 2020 Premium Luxury AWD that makes a terrible high pitch sound right at 29-30mph in AWD, shift to 2wd and it goes away. We've had it into the dealer and they couldn't locate where it was coming from. I'm going to take it back in, it's really embarrassing when we have friends riding with us!

Hi @Rays B4U, We’re experiencing at the same speeds as you. It remains up to highway speeds but then goes away after a few miles at interstate speeds. It is so frustratingly intermittent, but since @Cadillac Customer Service doesn’t expect dealers to offer loaner service like every new and used BMW I’ve owned, I’d have to go without a car for a week of the dealer driving my new $78k XT6 with less than 10k miles around to diagnose the problem since the video we provided isn’t enough for them to actually put forth some mechanical intelligence once the vehicle is on the rack. I may be a bit salty as I remember why I shouldn’t have spent so much money on a GM product since the brand knows how to create premium price tags but can’t seem to offer premium service levels. And yes, it is embarrassing!
I'm going to take it back in and force the issue. My local GM dealer is Chevy dealership and WAS a Cadillac dealer too, but unfortunately they gave up the Cadillac line due to big dollar changes being forced upon them by GM headquarters. I've always had good luck getting a rental car and they pay for it, I guess I'll find out if their customer service is still good for us Cadillac owners.

Thank you! I’ll ask that too. I’m in the same boat! Mount Vernon GM center dropped Cadillac for same reasons so I’ve been driving to Germain in Columbus, OH. They haven’t offered the rental option. Please keep me updated on your battle and I’ll do the same.
UPDATE:
Dealership has had the XT6 for 2 days now and they think a carrier bearing is the problem and have a new one ordered for it. Will update you when the new part is put in.

Thanks for update. Please keep us updated. I’m curious as to how they troubleshooted too, if you can share.
They said they used "Muffs" which I think is similar to a stethoscope. They would move it to different components while they had the car on the hoist and in gear. When they placed it on the carrier bearing they could hear it, when they moved it to another component the noise wasn't there.

Very helpful! Did yours make the noise constantly or occasionally? Mine seems to do it when under load, moderate to aggressive acceleration or when turning followed by a acceleration….assuming the latter is due to the AWD system engaging and disengaging different wheels.
It happens consistently in the 25-35 mph range, if you let off the gas the sound decreases in pitch. When I was on my way home from picking it up I noticed the noise around 50 mph too, that was the first time I heard it at that speed, but 99.9% of our driving is in town, so less than 50 mph.

UPDATE:
jtguilli Dealership replaced the "rear-prop shaft assembly and retaining rings" on 2/23/23 and so far the noise is gone. Hopefully it is gone permanently.

If the noise comes back I'll update this thread.

Thanks everyone!
