Replacing both HID bulbs this weekend along with all other standard bulbs in each headlight due to right headlight going out randomly. Aside from disconnecting the negative battery cable to avoid electric shock how long should I wait for the static charge in the system to drain off?

You won't encounter any shock. I've replaced mine many times without doing anything and it's been just fine.

Last year I changed both bulbs on a rainy day. No shocks here either.

Look around in the fenders while you have the lights out and the splash shields out of the way. I found a lot of salt sand and other **** in there so I rinsed everything out with a garden hose. Looks like something that should be done every few years if car is exposed to winter weather / driving.

Thanks guys...I changed all the bulbs in both the left and right headlights with the great instructions on the board today....aside for having a hard time getting the right passenger headlight out the job went well and I am still alive.
