Hi from a Cadillac fan in the UK.

I'm now on my second USA vehicle, a 1987 Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance. I bought the car from a specialist dealer here in the UK, the car originally being imported from Florida about 5 years ago.

The car has genuine mileage of only 27,000 miles, and is my daily driver, even though it can cause me problems with parking as spaces in the UK tend to be much smaller!

The car was fitted with a new vinyl roof (burgundy) just before I purchased it, and is in good condition other than a few scrapes to the paintwork and faded trim, but i put that down to it's life in sunny Florida!

Looking forward to chatting with you, and hopefully solving a few minor problems with my car!

London, UK

Hey Tony - Welcome to the CadillacForums. That sure is one low mileage Caddy - have any pictures? What color?

It seems the world keeps getting smaller and smaller.

Thanks Sandman!

My car is finished in a metallic silver, with a burgundy red vinyl roof. No pictures just yet, but I'll post some soon.

The paint/lacquer is faded in some places, as is the silver plastic trim that runs along the swage line of the car at about waist height. I also need a new bumper filler at the front - one is a bit 'cracked' (no it wasn't me!). Couple of other electrical oddities to sort out, see my post in the tech forums. And an oil leak which is baffling me!

The only mod I have made so far is to replace the factory radio casette with a european din sized head unit - the tuner on the factory unit wouldn't pick up many UK radio stations! Not one for the concourse fans, but I did at least use a proper wiring harness and fascia from BestBuy when I was in Orlando in January 2003.

To Our Hangout Tony! Just curious how much did you have to pay for your 87' in the U.K. Are American cars more costly over there? Do BMWs, Jags and Mercedes Dominate the Luxury car market in the U.K.? Again Welcome to the Cadillac Forums.
