I'm new to the Caddy world. My dad just bought a MY00 Deville DTS.

I drive a MY00 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS.

I'm very much into motorsports. Mostly into rally racing. In fact, this weekend I will be at the Sawmill Club Rally in PA.

I'm also into Le Mans, Forumula, etc. I participate in rally events and autocross events.

Hello All! :)

Devil,
My Scooby is moderately modified. Mostly suspension work. A little bit of motor work. Nothing too extensive though. She's quick, but not super fast. Although, she handles amazingly. :D

What kind of car are you looking to get for autox? I think the best car to autox is a Miata. They are so much fun. :)

Katshot,
Haha! My mouth is sooooooooooooooooo dry!

My friend Billy works for A&M (the press company that handles all the cars that are in Car & Driver, etc). He's been driving the STi around for a few weeks now, and I got to check it out.

In a word, the car is INSANE!!!

The Lancer Evo stands no ground w/ it. Check it out when it's available. It'll absolutely blow your mind!

Thanks for the welcome, guys. :D

Awesome. Those are very fun to autox.

I'm actually ridden in a touring spec turbocharged M3. It was bought off of the Touring Car Circuit.

The car is completely gutted out, full roll cage, racing seats, harnasses, carbon fibre everything. Motor is modified to I don't know how much power. R-compounds all around.

After my ride, I smiled non stop for about a week and a half.

SOOOOOOOOOOOO NICE! :)

My plans if i do get a e36 m3

Replace seats with sports buckets with racing harness
remove back seats
4+point rollcage bar
Lighter but little bit bigger wheels with high performance rubber
Replace hood with carbon fiber (painted of course).
bigger rotors and bigger brakes all around
M suspension is good but not enough. So i may actually look into upgrading that as well
.... (AA turbo work done for some more inline power).

prolly this summer.
I have 3 choices m3, lightning or the new gtp.
New gtp and lightning are both sweet, both forced fed from factory but neither is offered with manual.
If it's possible i would like to get a lot of euro m3 parts and swap it in.

Well, the M3 would be your best bet for autox and track days.

The lightning is nice and all (I assume you're talking about the SVT), but it's just too heavy. And yes, of course the inavailability of an MT. My friend Dan has an SVT Lightning. It's seriously modified, and he autox's it. But he always gets so frustrated because he has trouble competing w/ the other cars in his class. It's just so heavy and has a lot of power. Even w/ his R-compounds, he has trouble keeping the tires planted.

Same goes for the GTP. Yes, a nice car, but very heavy and no MT. Plus, you'll have to contend w/ the fact that it's a FWD. So you're going to have a lot of issues w/ understeer.

Welcome from up here in the arctic, eh? PS We finally got a Mitsubishi dealer in town and I guess the Evo's are comming.
Hey now. I was in Ottawa this past weekend. :D

Don't worry too much about the Evo's. Yes, they're fast, but they aren't up to par to what everyone expects. Comparatively, they are compared to the Subaru WRX. Yes, they have more power, and in the long run, are faster. They also weigh more, and a few things are just underdone. For one, aesthetically, the dash is made of the cheapest looking plastic available. Performance-wise, the brakes aren't as efficient as they should be.

When the Evo came into town, the WRX owners got a li'l worried. When the STi comes into town, the Evo owners are going to cry.

Oh... and as for Evo's, here's a bunch of my friends and I tooling around an Evo VI

I don't know man. EVO has been eating sti wrx in the track in japan. I still think evo will perform slightly better than wrx.
That's the J-spec STi. The US-spec STi comes w/ a turbocharged 2.5 liter instead of the 2.0 liter. It has more power and has more torque.

Furthermore, you're talking about real Evos. Not the US-spec Evo.

:D
