you should have done a little more research on tire size BEFORE getting the wrong size -

the 255/55/18 is a LOT taller than the original 235/55/17 -
diameter went from 27.2" to 29"
your speedo now reads SLOW -
actual speed is almost 75 when it shows 70 -

--------------------------

keep a close eye on those rotors for cracks - VERY common for drilled rotors -

Too bad that you screwed up the suspension and handling with the wrong wheels and tires.

With some work and research you can go to the larger Buick Lucerne calipers. But why ? Will you track the car or constantly drive it over 70 mph ?

Let's move this from the non-vehicle-specific chitchat Lounge up to the correct Deville forum.

This hurt my head to read.

Stock brakes are more than adequate for these cars. You're not going to autocross the thing or anything like that (I assume...).

You just need to get the right size tire to make it work. Stock size is 235/55-17 so you can go to a 235/50-18 to get the speedometer to read correctly again (and stop the rubbing, assuming your wheels aren't excessively wide.

Post a photo of your wheels. I'm not one to leave things factory stock, so aftermarket wheels don't really ruin the car for me, presonally.
