It is interesting to also note that the 20" wheels and tires they use are about 5.8% greater circumference....which will act like "lowering" the final drive #.

Looks like the combo of the 6-speed manual and street tires conspired to produce the less than stellar ET number, although the trap speed shows the car is making some nice power. The Price As-Tested would have scared me away immediately though as that's way rich for my blood.

Yeah i would agree Gnsx, That car should have easily been in the 10s. To bad the magazines dont let you try with drags and without for thier testing.. Kinda not fair to the builders.

The one in the pics doesn't even have the Recaro seats.

People are running much better ETs with ~ $2k worth of mods.

That cts-v is John's personal car and the same cts-v on you tube that did 185mph in the Texas mile. There is also a video on youtube of this car doing the 1/4 in 11.1 at 130. I don't understand why the 20s make it slower.

... because the 20" tires have much less revs per mile than the stock diameter wheel/tire combo.

Effectively they act as an overdrive (numerically lower final drive ratio). But, who's counting when you have over 700ft/lb torque to overcome a slight tire diameter change! :)
