I need to replace my RCDLR. Could anyone give me the part number for my 2005 Cadillac sts? Also after installation what are the steps to reprogramming the RCDLR?

First question, why do you believe it needs to be replaced? Next, is the replacement new or used?

My key fob buttons are not working. The key fob is still detected and able to unlock the doors by pulling the handles but none of the buttons function. I changed the battery and reprogrammed it but nothing happened.

The antennas used to open the doors and start the car are different than the one used for remote keyless entry and remote start. I know there was a bulletin that affected 'some' STS's regarding the antenna connections. You may want to check these first to ensure the problem isn't a simple fix. Along the top of the rear glass there is a button-type connector that snaps onto the rear window used for the RCDLR. If I remember correctly, you may need to remove the driver's side 'C' pillar trim to access it. There will be more than one of these on the glass because this is also the type of connector used for the AM/FM radio antenna. The bulletin also referred to a potentially poorly seated connector on the RCDLR. There is a single coaxial cable the plugs into the module that has been known, in some cases, to have backed off. The RCDLR is located on the driver's side of the car, underneath the rear shelf, accessible from the trunk. There are two other modules there (Rear Park Assist & Rear Integration Module). The RPA will be labeled 'Bosch" and the RIM should have Rear Integration Module embossed in the plastics.

Okay, just to confirm, the last 8 digits of your VIN are less than 50164913? If not, this bulletin does not apply to your vehicle (unless someone installed a used module from an affected car).

Programming the module will depend on whether you purchase a new one or a used one. In order to install a new module you will require a Tech2 scan tool, a PC with an RS-232 port and a subscription to http://www.acdelcotds.com in order to access the software that must be downloaded into the module.

If you install a used module then you will need to do a theft deterrent system relearn. I don't have the exact steps for this but you can subscribe to any one of the following and the steps will be outlined there:

http://www.eautorepair.net (Mitchell1 DIY)
http://www.acdelcotds.com (Same online service manual that GM dealerships use)
http://www.alldatadiy.com (A third choice. Many like it, not my favourite though)

As for the part number, the bulletin states you should use P/N 15259522 (if this in fact applies to your car). You can try searching eBay or www.car-part.com for your year and model. Keep in mind that you 'may' get one that has the same problem.
