hey all, I have a 93 Eldo with 215,600 miles. The problem that im having occurs while cruising at highway speeds. when i get the car up to around 80 MPH, the car will start to SPUTTER, kind of like its running out of gas. If i let off the gas it will drive just fine. Sometimes if i MASH down on the gas (WOT) my odometer will make it pass 80 and continue accelerating with no sputter and other times not so lucky (sputters again.)

I did a tune up on it about 9 months ago new plugs(AC), wires (AC), coils(NAPA), cranksensor (DELPHI), cleaned EGR, tranny flush, coolant flush... THE WORKS.

The car starts smooth, idles smooth, and runs smooths. The only problem is this intermittent sputtering at 80 mph.

The only code that i mainly get are P046 CURRENT (right to left fueling bank difference) and P083 HIST (cranksensors agian LOL) and P036 HIST (that damn EGR has to go LLOLL:dammit:)

I really dont think that it would be a Vacum leak (RANGER's response from similar posts LOL:bows:) or a faulty injector. I kind of think that it may be one of my o2 Sensors. BUT WOULD A FAULTY o2 SENSOR CAUSE AN INTERMITTENT SPUTTER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (80 MPH)????

please help me out with this so i can get this problem out the way and start back driving at my normal 90 mph LOL....:cool2:

THANKS GUYS

Those EGR ports are also known as "mouse holes". Clean them out and see if that helps. If not, then you might want to tape a fuel pressure gauge to the windshield and see what your fuel pressure is while driving (or stay under 80 MPH).

Reporting back guys. Just changed my oil last night and while the oil was draining i started checking around the engine for any thing unusual, and what do u know?,,to my surprise "A VACUM LEAK" coming from a cracked and partially torn PCV hose. (well i guess Ranger was right in those previous post :bows: LOL),,,

I replaced it with some new hose and started it up. I had not noticed before but apparently it idles a lot smoother, it kind of feels as though the engine is not running at all, that's how smooth it idles. When i took it for a test drive i puched it (WOT) hoping that i would make it past 80 mph, it almost seemed as though i skipped over 80 and hit 90 in sec's. And i SWEAR ive gained a horse or 2, or 295 (VIN "9" LOL)....Its so amazing how one little thing that gets out of whack can put 50 other things out of whack.

To sum it all up "Marilyn" is back up and running like she used to. Oh and did i mention that the N* is so unbeliveably powerful. I was actually almost thrown into my back seat from the hp when i puched it.

Thanks for every ones help. Oh and to all whom reads this post listen to Ranger he's quite the contributer and ADMINISTRATOR to the forums.

thanks a bunch guys.:D
