Hi guys.. new here.. have a 87 cadillac sedan deville.. original owner..only 68k miles.. lately its been a PITA... For some reason when I turn the car off, air blows from the vents up front from the dash where defogger would usually blow. The key is out of the car and the air will blow from the vents until the battery is dead. So its very inconvenient to unhook the battery every time I drive it. I checked the fuses and took out some fuses hoping to "unplug" the fan but its still there. I have to jumo start the car for 5-10 mins before it starts back up. For some reason, it did the exact same thing 6 weeks back and the ar stopped blowing from the dash vents and everything was great.. and the air just started back up couple days ago.. what can i do to turn this fan off? Its draining the battery cause it never shuts off :(. Dam cputer controlled cars (digital)! Thanks for any help!

thank you very much for the reply.. I dont know much about the electronics on the car.. how much does a new one cost and can i get one at a local auto parts store instead of the dealer? And I assume I can just unplug and not have air and drive w/o the fan blowing again? If someone could help me trace the wire and unplug it..it would be great... In the meantime, i will try and find it. Thanks again for the reply! Its the 4.1L V8

As far as I know, the module isn't available outside the dealer. Like I said, the module is near the blower motor and finding it is as easy as following the power wire from the motor. It goes directly to the module. Replacing the module is as easy as removing the (3) screws holding it down. That's it.

The blower motor and module is under the hood on the passenger side at the fire wall.......the blower motor is round in shape. The module is on top of the heater box next to it. There should be a tan colored thick wire going to it along with some smaller wires. Unplug the thick wire and the blower should stop. Good luck:coolgleam
