Those are safety locks. You trip and remove them, then depress the tapered wedge snap locks and pull out the relay. TIGHT.

How do you "trip" them? I have no idea.

Thanks for your reply and your help!!! The fan will not shut off!!

Pry out the upside-down red T. They prevent the relay snap wedge lock from being depressed.

Somewhere in the main fuse box - is/are there Maxi-fuses for the cooling fan(s) ??

Either a member could post the schematic for your fan circuits or you could subscribe the car to www.alldatadiy.com - it's the GM service manuals (with diagnostics) plus a LOT more.

Thanks very much SubmarinerShe'sRealFineMy409!!

The very last of the three I disconnected (so I got some practice in) was the one for the cooling fan (that stays on after the ignition is turned off).
Now, I have to decide if I can use the car without that fan at all, until I get a replacement relay.
