Hi, the AC compressor is off because of low refrig. level. Will it affect the heating system? winter is coming... thank you,

I can't claim to be an expert on this, or anything else, but I read recently that it will. If the compressor is off because of a low level, and the compressor cycles when the defroster is on, it doesn't look good.
I hope I'm wrong, I have the same problem.

Your heating system will not be affected by the compressor being off. It will function normally. What it will affect is your defroster. The compressor is designed to come on when you activate your defroster to remove humidity inside the vehicle to help keep your windows defogged. Without the compressor operating, the windows may fog more but you will definately be warm and toasty.
