Hi all, I have a 2007 Escalade that the heated seats have suddenly stopped working on. To clarify, the seats may still heat, but the display doesn’t do anything at all when any of the heated seat buttons are pressed. I don’t see any action on the screen, no bars. But the heating/cooling system still works fine, and the screen works for everything else. I’ve looked at other forums, and it seems like the only issue I can find is where the display still works, but the seats don’t heat, or click. Any ideas on the issue here?
Thanks!

Read a whole bunch of threads on heated seats....

Doesnt anyone have any info? Mine cool fine, and click for heat. Have bars on dash showing heat, but no heat on either seat. Only info i can find is check wires.....uh....ok......ya theres wires there.

So can anyone answer if there are bars on the dash showing heat, and you hear a click, but no heat. What does that mean. For people where its not working.....do you get the bars on dash?? Do you get a click???

Its too bad, this forum was way better 10 years a go when i had my eldorado, answers for everything with engineers signed in and helping people.

For us, it would click and the dash displayed that heat was on, but no heat.

Under the passenger seat, the ground and/or hot wire will often melt the connector, making it not feed the electric through. You need to find the connector for the seat control module, unplug it, and inspect the connector and pins on both sides. Look for burn marks and/or melting. I had to get a new connector and pins -- and move all the wiring over to it (as the original was melted). This fixed it for a while. When i had to the issue again -- i just ran the ground or hot (can't remember which one) wire OUTSIDE of the connector plug with a thicker gauge wire. (Meaning, i cut the wire on both sides, and bypassed the connector with that particular wire. The wires GM used are too thing to handle the current, causing the melting and failure.

its a cheap box under your passenger seat that runs your heat and cold seats, there is a wire that runs into that . it gets over heated and melts to the box, you need to modify that wire, I had to do it with my 07. its not fun but that part cost about $500 bucks , I redid that wire by cutting it away from the box and reconnecting it, I was told that piece is awfully cheap, its like making a 5 dollar part to do a 5000 dollar task
