Headlight Out???

2531 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  twanlo456
The passenger side headlamp is out on My 2014 XTS. The daytime running lights when out first and now the actual headlamp is done as well. The parking lights still works though. Does the headlamp bulb ignite the daytime light strip also or does it sound like I need the entire headlight assembly? Hoping it’s just a bulb. Has anyone experienced this that can provide any tips? Thanks in advance for any and all replies!!!

I replaced my bulb awhile back. As I recall, I paid about $125 for the bulb (GMDirectParts). Then, I paid the dealership to install it. I think it may have been around $75. Being, I did not want to void the 1 year warranty through GM. Next time, I may try it myself.

My Acadia has a similar setup. I bought the bulb at Wal-Mart ($30 I think), and was able to install it. I removed the wheel well. The dealership stated that the process included removing the bumper. I guess backyard mechanics are being put out of a job.
I had both my headlight bulbs fail. The driver's side under warranty, and the passenger's side was not. One was out. The other was a pale blue. There are some videos that show how the bulb could be replaced. I just did not want to take a change on damaging a $120 some odd bulb and have to buy another one. Hopefully, the price of the bulb will go down as the vehicle gets older.
