Headers are installed

Well it took a little longer than I expected. I ran into a couple of problems and I have to say that the hardest part is probably just getting at the spark plugs. Removing and installing is a real pain. It was worth the effort though.

Here is a video clip of how it sounds. This is B&B long tube headers and B&B XPIPE exhaust with cats.

And for those of you who are planning this, make sure you get O2 Sensor extenders. I ended modifying mine but extenders would have made it easier. You only need them for the front, the rears fit fine.

As for performance, I haven't had a chance to drive it much. Out on my test drive it did seem to have more power but its hard to tell since I haven't driven my car much lately since it was in the shop. I am looking forward to my drive to work tomorrow.

tomorrow i'm attaching the catback, and reinstalling everything including new plugs. I too am dreading getting the plugs in, but heh, it's possible.

congrats on the install....I'm stuck on installing the final pipe to the right header which is a bitch to install btw. Would leaving one of the 02 sensors bad for the car?
I'm close. Gotta put the coil packs and dip stick in...
Good luck with the dip stick. Make sure you do it before the coil packs.

Black Beast. not sure what you mean by "Would leaving one of the 02 sensors bad for the car?" If you mean would it be bad to not hook up the O2's? You would definately get a check engine light and it would probably not run all that great.
yeah if there's a trick to lining up that dipstick please let me know :)

WARNING!! Doing the above mentioned method especially around the presence of a female may produce a condition called K.I.D.S. . This condition is contagious and very espensive in trying to treat it. At this point there is no cure and there are many side effects including: insomnia, headaches, empty wallet, and as the condition progress the empty wallet only intensifies. However it should end at age 24 or 25 and then the rewards will follow. (maybe) :histeric:

Have someone wiggle the dip stick from above and you can see it (when they wiggle it) and you can guide it in from below!

Excuse my grammar lol....I was really tired and fustrated. Well, I finished hooking up the headers but, there is a huge exhaust leak on the car so when I turned on the car it made a horrible noise thinking that something happened to my engine but my gearhead cousin came by and pointed out that it was an exhaust leak and told me just to add in 2 more gaskets in there. I also didn't connect 2 of the 4 sensors so that explains why the car fluctuates while driving, the check engine light came on, and the car was running like shit. Tomorrow i'm going to install the 2 extra gaskets on the exhaust, and install the o2 sensors. I was able to connect top left 02 sensor.....but I can't seem to connect the top o2 sensor on the right. Is something interfering the top connection or do I just need a extender?

Thanks,
Gilbert

Does anyone know the part number for the top 02 sensor on the right?

CEI-109006 12" O2 HARNESS EXTENSION

You need those :) $15 for overnight shipping.
Only buy a new sensor if you borked one. They don't come with any longer leads. My front ones were a bit tangled up with other wires and were hard to unhook. From below it was easier to unplug them.

And I'd also PM heavymetals for his patented kick ass gaskets :)

Dan.
She sounds great and that is with the cats? I guess It's time for me to put in mine since racing season is over.
I think I could hear a little kid frighten by the B&B full exhaust... Was that William?? If so don't feel bad my son is the same way around my Harley, he runs off everytime I start it.. lol :shhh:
You guys are doing good, for sure worth the effort and you will be happy in the end.. Keep up the great work and mods...

Also, when you want to stop screwing around and use a real gasket, let me know as I have a few sets left.
LOL
Pm sent! Also, excuse my ignorance but do I need the upstream or downstream direct sensor? I borked my top right sensor.

Thanks, I just ordered one and I'm going to get it shipped overnight.

A word of advice for people who ordered the bb headers without the resonators and is not going to use the cats. That car is going to be fcvking loud! It's going to feel like a 60's muscle car.

I'll post a videoclip of my car once i'm done with it.

I ordered up two sets from HM, just to have around. Leaky gaskets SUCK ASS.

After seeing these things in person...GOOD GAWD...you could club a baby seal with one.

Having no leaks is WELL WORTH the price of admission when it comes to these gaskets. I'm going to have Lindsay install them, when my car goes in to get my UUC installed.
