Ok I have a chance to buy some Too good to be true priced Wheels. they are asanti af120 style and they are 19's with 8.5 245 in front and 9.5 275 in the rear with perelli tires. I am yet to see them in person but the guy says they are perfect shape and he is moving to florida so He just wants them out of his garage.

Here is the deal though. The centers are painted to match Stealth Grey so I would need to get the centers refinished. Now I could Just Paint them and the hardware Black (which I might do) But I would rather take them apart and have them black chromed and leave the chrome lip the same but it will depend on cost etc

Anywhoo I am going to meet him in rockford this week and check them out but before I do.

Nmaier :shhh: I know your the only other person that knows about these so dont let them know the deal please

So yeah any experience would be great

Is it hard /complicated to take them apart
where can i get new hardware if necessary

Etc etc

Its not too bad, they come apart pretty easy, you will have to replace the rubber seal that goes between the face and barrow.
where would I get somthing like that and maybe new (bolts) or hardware?

Yeah too bad they are stealth grey now LOL

If i get them i might have to take a pic before I paint them when they are still that color LOL

Oh yeah ...what did u use an allen wrench or somthing? Just curious what they use for bolts. I honestly have never paid enough attention when I am close to them

Do you have a Discount Tire store near you? They are a Asanti / Lexani dealer. I am trying to think of the name of the outfit I used to deal with in Louisville, they would have the parts you need since they sell the wheels.

If you have to split them to have them straightened then you will have to re silicone (high temp clear works great). I did not have to split mine to refinish. I got them straightened and repolished, then took out the center sections and had them powdercoated. Then I re-assembled with new stainless hex bolts and loctited. Torque specs vary on the web from 18-22 ft. lbs. In a cross section. I have not had any issues and they are true as can be and i don't have any leaks, and IMO look great. I made my own center caps too since HRE were so unhelpful in the process, ($3000 to refinish lol) Good luck!!! Here is before and after.

I sold mine easy on ebay. Only got $400, but I started the auction wrong day, wrong time. It ended on a monday at 10:00pm. I seem to have the best results when I end the auction on a Sun. at about 8-9pm. Had I done this prolly could have got about $600. On the bolts, there is a place in houston called The Nut Place. They always have the bolt I am looking for in stainless, aluminum, steel etc. And way cheaper the any of the chain stores which usaully dont have it any way. I paid like $45 bucks for 160 stainless bolts. Google and they pop up first. Good luck

Here is a pic of your wheels in gunmetal :) . Also a close up of the bolts, They are the same as hre, 12 pt. You can get a socket anywhere to fit that. It will also usaully say the size on the top of the bolt which it looks like it does. All you need is the thickness, pitch, and length of threaded part and you good to go.

First of all I am scared to google "the nut place" :histeric: jk
Was that with tires? I was hoping to get around 1100 with tires since they are powdercoated and in perfect shape. I think that would be a good deal since just the rims go for 200 seperatly on ebay. (and the tires only have 3k on them and no burnouts and i will market them as such) But yeah this is all talk anyway I still gotta go buy those others and they have to work first

WOW You just sold me on that color I think

DO you think it would be ghetto if I just painted them for the summer (rivets and all) It would be much easier and then I could powder coat them this winter when the car is sitting on blocks

Hey chadeberly, where did you get your rims refinished? I have Asanti, and am having some chrome flaking issues on the outter lip portion of the rim. (not from curbing either... )

The place I got my wheels refinish is a place in Houston called Rancho Rocky Roads Texas. 281-373-1544. They charged me $500 to repolish and straighten all four barrels, I told them to leave the centers alone because i was about to get them powder coated. It is a small company, but the old man knows his shi*. I don't know if they rechrome though.
