The title asks it all. I wanted to know if anyone has installed the stock stereo non navigation version into a V ? I am curious cause i would like to add a aftermarket nav unit but i want to retain my dic and wondered if the standard non navigation style dic will work with the V ? I would really like to know before buying and finding out the hard way. Thanks!

Seems like a swap that no one would go through the trouble of doing. I think that the FEW people who have installed aftermarket in dash nav in the cars have either done away with the stock DIC or installed it in the glove box or console or something like that. I do remember seeing one picture where someone installed their stock screen under the new in dash nav.

I would look into a smartphone like an IPhone which integrates navigation, internet, music, etc... with everything else in the world. That way you always have it in your car or out! That the way of the future it seems.

Not quite what I'm going for. I suppose I'll give it a shot since it seems that no one who is currently active on the board knows for sure if it will work... I cant lose much. I can get one on ebay for under $100 and sell it if it doesnt work out. I'll keep the board posted...

I remeber someone posting pictures of a V they were going to buy that had a non-nav radio installed. The car was a V, just had a standard radio. Thus I believe a swap to the standard unit would work.

Just my .02
