We had a German guy in town last week to do some installation work for a project we are doing. While driving out to a jobsite i asked him if they celebrated memorial day....oops, touchy subject for the Germans i suppose. He was cool about it and started talking about how long it took for anyone to be proud of the country after that. He said it wasn't until about 30 years later that anyone was proud enough to even wave their flag at a soccer tournament. Kinda put things into perspective of how proud we are of our country because of the military. Just made me think of where we would be or how we would feel if we didnt win that war. Also realizing how hard it must have been to win on foreign soil where the enemy has a significant advantage. Anyways small story but certainly helped me to appreciate the military even more than before. :thumbsup:
From a Vietnam era sailor who served in the U.S Navy for 10 years, my thanks and prayers go out to all who are currently serving, those who have previously served and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. May we never forget those who have given so much.

Yes, THANK YOU !!! in spades. Dad was in WWII, and I missed 'Nam by the skin of my teeth. War is scary as hell. Our kids over in Iraq and Afganistan right now have all my respect and support. Let's get that thing over the right way and git 'em home! :thumbsup:

We get so caught up in trying to make more dough, getting laid or just wanting to do what we want to do without a hassle and never think about the true meaning behind the "why" & "how" as it relates to our country and the ones that put their lives on the line for us to even have these simple thoughts and ideas of "prospect" not to mention freedom...
It's about the busboy in my world who makes me look good not me. It's about the crew that's on the wall/front line that we need to praise...Recognition and support is free...

Oh yeah? My grandpa was a captain of one of the bombers on the Hiroshima run, supporting role. My dad only works for BAE, which is fun to see the Aberdeen proving grounds.
