Well I knew it was comming and I just kept kidding myself it would be ok. The front was so low you could barely get your hand inside on top of the tire. The first week it was lowered my wife had it washed at a car wash and she called me to tell me that a black part had came off at the car wash. Of course the car wash said not there fault. The next week I'm driving and hear what sounds like air rushing in the cabin. I pull over and see that the tire had pulled the brake vent out. The last straw was driving down the road I see a big pot hole and I try to avoid but could not. The front hit hard and I knew I was going to have a problem. Well I get out to look and the tire hit the fender and bent it out. It took me about five seconds to know it's just not worth it. Now I have to get the fender repaired, new brake vent, and the part that is under the engine to keep water from comming up from the ground into the engine. I had forgot how well the car drove at stock height. The car looks like it's so high!!!!
With all of this being said I have one set of springs for sale. The have 7,500 miles on them. Maybe I installed them wrong, but please use with caution. I also have one set of standard rear shocks for sale as well. I have put my F2's back on.:thepan:

What sort of springs were you using, were they after market (brand?) or cut stocks.

Yes they were Eibach's! I still can't get over how high my car looks now. Now my question is should I put the sway bars on or sell them? Also CTSV05 I have the GM bushings and while it helped on wheel hop some should I buy your system to go with them? How much would it help? Which system? I had BMR stuff but could not stand the creaking noise it made so I have sold them.

You could shim the front springs to get them up a bit. WildWhl made me several sets to try out with different thicknesses to put under the front spring pad. I have a regular CTS with CTS Eibachs (1.2" vs. 1.6" for the V). I only want to go between 3/4" and 1". I did the WildWhl nivomat mod and got about an inch in the rear. As soon as it settles to it's permanant ride height, I'll recalculate the front ride height and put shims in the front. I currently plan to put some 4.5mm shims in which should result in about 1/4" higher at the wheel (which sits further out than the springs).

He also made me several sets of progressively thicker shims (6mm and 7mm, I think). The 7mm should result in about .4" higher ride height at the wheel. or you can do the WildWhl mod in the front too, and dial in the height you want with stock V springs. 3/4" lower seems about the max you'd want to go and still be drivable on the street. 1.6" is way too low, IMHO.

The V Springs Only Come In The Pro Series. I Am About To Install Them With 295's On Rear.

The shims should work fine. Jegs and Summit sell spacers that fit underneath the rubber seats. I've also thought about doing a drop, but I'm more interested in installing stiffer springs....something I haven't yet figured out.

I have been playing with shims in the front - and it is a good idea. For one, it allows you to "preload" the spring in a fashion more similar to stock. In fact, my plan for the next time the fronts come out is to drop to the -1" groove and install .4" worth of spacers. My goal is to net .75-1" lower in front (I'm currently below that and I feel it is too much - though I haven't had any of the troubles mentioned above in this thread).

A slammed car isn't for every driver. I've only had lowered cars the last four and am not having any issues with my heighth. Now, when loaded, I have trouble with some rubbing, but I don't think a li'l widenin' of the rear fenders will have any problem with fixin' that right up. :thumbsup:

I've been thinking a bit too much lately about the spring issue. There must be a way for a GroundControl kit to fit our cars. The fronts wouldn't be too much of an issue, its the rears that concern me....of course. I checked their site, and found a coil-over kit for the Mustang's that appear to be compatable with our rear-spring location. Ifigure if I use WW's mod and a GC kit, I could always fine-tune the height to not cause any jacking or sagging due to improper height. Add a slightly stiffer set of springs, and I'll be the happy V-pilot I know I can be.

I've spoken about this before, but with a newfound hope with the new diff has sparked my competitive juices. We'll see....

Does anyone know if Parker from Tx had the same issues. I have seen the pictures of his car and it looks great but it is low. My Eibachs arrived yesterday and this thread does concern me because I drive my car daily.

The only problems I have is slight rubbing, so I plan on rolling my fenders this weekend. You have to stay away from those potholes though, Ive bent my wheel on one before I had the car lowered. The exhaust scrapes right under the tranny when you go over a HUGE speedbump, but normal ones it wont touch. I plan on keeping mine lowered, if anyone plans on lowering theres, this is a hell of a deal.
