I hate the look of the stock grill and am considering a E&G Mesh grill. It sounds like a lot of work and while I have no porblem with the $ I'd like to know if there are any other options that look good. Pics of alternatives will help a lot. Wife's SRX is silver. Has anyone tried painting the grill darker ro get it to contrast better?

Thanks,
Bob

I was kinda looking for a grill option other than mesh too for my 2005 SRX (I think it may be same color as your wife's) and also for my black 2004 CTS so I went with a couple of E and G Grills...for the SRX I have the 3-D Syle Z Grill...here's the link:

and for the CTS I went with the 2-piece Billet Grill...here's the link...

Both grills were bought off EBay from a reputable seller and dealer of E and G Grills and I got them for about 25% off retail list...

I didnt get the inserts that go over the directional lights and both cars do not have the Caddy logo on the grill...my Caddies really draw alot of attention especially the CTS...sometimes I think people look at the cars and wonder who the manufacturer is...it is definitely a different look...for the SRX I thought the Z-Grill was a little more refined because of more chrome while the billet on the CTS fits in with the more sportiness of the car...

So if you want something different that seems to draw a good deal of attention think about the two I mentioned and see if they work for you...good luck with your purchase!!

E&G have other grills besides mesh. They have one called 'Classic 3-Dimensional Style "Z" Grille' and another one called 'Billet Grille'. Both of these have horizontal lines in the grill versus the mesh look. Go to egclassic.com to view.

The mesh grill does look nice. I have read that you need to paint everything behind the grill black to get the best effect and wife is not crazy about hitting everything with a spray bomb.

15 minutes and it's done. just tape off the area with some news paper and use a can of flat black..done

it's just the radiator condensor and some supports..

Tony - did you do the installation yourself? Is the stock grill destroyed or could it be put back to stock?

Thanks,
Bob

back to stock is easy, just need a new emblem or to strip the emblem off (again) from the E&G and reapply...

as for the billet grille, it's a matter of personal preference.. I for one think that billet grille looks too much like the classic grill I had on my 78' Coupe, just that the bars are going the "wrong way" lol...

That is a fricken great idea! I can't wait to let you try it and then copy the idea if it comes out good! I just am not totally hot on the E&G or even the sport grill for that matter. And my stock grey grill is ...well....dull and grey.

I would go with the sport grill in a minute if I didn't have to change the whole front facia and bumper cover to get the effect. Time to find someone who can chrome plastic.
