Points! Thanks for sharing the Rolling Stone article. It brought back good memories. I have many of these on vinyl that I need to convert or replace with CDs someday for my car and iPod.

This is weird considering that I listen to so much music, but I don't actually own that many original albums. Most of my stuff is either on greatest hits CD's or downloaded. But, there are some albums that I just had to buy among my favorites are:

The Wall - Pink Floyd
Let it Bleed - The Rolling Stones
All things must pass - George Harrison (8-track & CD)
Come Fly with me - Frank Sinatra (I have it on 8-track, too.)
And even though it's cliche, Dark Side Of The Moon should be on this list somewhere.

I dont think you can really state a greatest album of all time. There is too much to choose from, too many genres.

But in the spirit of things, I offer you my 21 greatest rock songs:

Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith
Turn Up The Radio - Autograph
Got Me Wrong - Alice In Chains
Come Together - The Beatles
Peace of Mind - Boston
With a Little Help From my Friends - Joe Cocker version (written by The Beatles)
Hotel California - The Eagles
Don't Stop - Fleetwood Mac
November Rain - Guns N Roses
Alone - Heart
Rock and Roll - Led Zeppelin
Cult of Personality - Living Colour
Turn the Page - Metallica version (written by Bob Seger)
Kickstart My Heart - Motley Crue
Rockin in the Free World - Neil Young
Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne
Alive - Pearl Jam
Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones version (written by Grand Funk Railroad)
Red Barchetta - Rush
Right Now - Van Halen
Radar Love - White Lion version (written by Golden Earring)

It was supposed to be 20. But I just cannot give any of them up :)
I know there are a few newer songs out there that are great, but I am only considering songs older than 10 years.
