No. What you have pictured is not gracenote.

Gracenote is the database that the car uses to display CD information... so you can see the artist, album, and song titles when you put a CD in. It has nothing to do with the display.

There are firmware updates on the Nav database discs, but nothing I am aware of changes the display very much.

Acutally Gracenote is more than just CD-related (formerly CDDB). Below is quote from wiki.....

"In addition to its CD track-identification system, Gracenote operates a digital file identification service which allows digital music files (such as MP3s) to be identified, and a media management service for the generation of playlists, and recommendation of music."

However, I still don't know what "this" is either. Where did you get that screenshot? I am certain it's not from our cars since we don't have Pandora.

Paco,

It might help to know what "this" is. Many have tried to break into the system, all failed to date.

Who has tried? It's a windows mobile based system. I'd think some of the "younger" folks might be successful. I haven't done code in years now...I just tell people what to do now. :)

Actually, if you want to be that way, it also does vinyl records, song lyrics, and has other assorted consumer oriented features, but also provides music information to most digital music services.

Geez, you guys like details.
