Hello Everyone,
Does anyone know if the navigation system is interchangeable on the 07-11 Escalade? I have an 07 and was hoping I could get a new (factory) system with bluetooth, and auxiliar for iPhone.
I understand that there may not be an iPhone plug, but I've seem some gadgets online like the Navigation unlock plug ins that I might install at the same time.
So needless to say, I'm looking for a Navi system, bezels (center, and right side), and third-row seats. If you know anyone in the Socal area, please let me know.
Thank you,
Ron

welcome to the cadillac forums... I see this is your first post, and I noticed that you have an 07 Escalade. You'd probably get more responses if you posted in the 07+ forums, as this is the 99-06 forum for the Escalade. I'm almost sure they are interchangeable, but it'd be best to ask someone who can give you a solid answer. I'm just assuming you could. You should also take advantage of the search feature, and you'll probably save yourself some time waiting for responses.

2011 is the one you want. The maps move to a solid state memory card, there is a USB port, and for 2011 the Escalade finally has 3D maps of major areas, just like the CTS.

What VIN number do you programm it with, 07 or 11? oemautopartsco-gm (eBay vendor recommended in this site) said the following:

Well a couple of things come to mind?

The 2010 nav unit will fit in an earlier year (2007-2009). The hole pattern and the connections will be the same.

Remember that the USB port is in the back of the unit. You will need to locate a cable that will run from the back of the nav unit to usually a panel located in the dash or center console.

When you put a 2010 nav unit in a, say, 2008?what do you program the nav unit to?? If you use your VIN while programming it and it?s a 2010 nav unit, that nav unit won?t be on the programming screen to select from. If you use a fake 2010 VIN and program it. It might cause some problems in your vehicle. I?ve heard of some screens just going blank.

I just had a guy buy a 2010 GM unit for his 2008 Silverado. He?s having some issues. Every now and then the screen will turn blue with nothing on it.? I think it?s a programming issue. I programmed the unit using a 2010 VIN so I could enable the USB and other things in that nav unit.

Have you had any problems, and how did you run your USB cable?

The Navigation system doesn't care what year the VIN is from. The purpose of the VIN is for theft prevention by matching the VIN in the unit to the VIN in the vehicle's BCM. The guy you mentioned (oemautopartsco-gm) is the guy I got mine from, and his units come PRE unlocked, so the VIN does NOT matter. If you buy one that DOES need programming, the year of the truck still doesn't matter.
