Got my ELR last night!!! CUE differences

My car got here from Ohio last night! I will say right off that most pictures of these cars do not do it justice nor render the lines correctly, especially straight on, or shots of the back. I think I was most immediately taken back by how much better the car actually looks in person, and especially from the back. The car is also smaller than I remembered in my very quick test drive that I did in Olympia - it really is a pretty small car. It came in better condition than I had hoped for, very nice for 37K miles on it - obviously the detailers did great work. The only thing I see right now that doesn't work properly is the rain sense wipers - very spotty and just kinda take a swipe whenever it feels like it even when it's raining pretty well... oh well I guess I'll be checking out the CPO warranty soon!

The biggest noticeable difference right now that I see from having our 2014 SRX is the ELR 2016 CUE system is truly 1000 times better. It was spotty and hard to get my finger to work on the 2014 and never knew where to place my finger. The ELR CUE system works great on mine - no complaints. Navigation screen looks great and very cool that it will change to the the 45* aspect mode just by touching the top direction ball, and toggles between the views. Love it. I also really love the fact that the screen goes big until you reach to zoom in and then the zoom buttons appear - very nice. My finger seems to work great with this updated CUE system so no problems anymore...yah! Hard to believe that one cannot update the CUE system on 2014 models? maybe you can but did read that here yet.

Can't wait to get some weathertech mats for it as it's raining here and I have carpet under my feet - argh!!! I played with the 4 different screen modes- curious to what screen modes people like. I like the classic "enhanced" screen.

Really liking the fact that I know I'll probably never see another ELR in my neck of the woods here! :yup:

No, it definitely says "rainsense on". It just doesn't know when to wake up - works and then it doesn't work. I've had the feature on a lot of cars I've owned. It's definitely not working right. Funny that ever car I've had seemed like they had their own mind as far as the rainsense. Currently our FPace works the best, the BMW only okay, not sensitive enough, all the others we've had somewhere in between.
Welcome to the club! I keep hearing about how much better the 2016 vs the 2014 CUE is, but I just dont see it. I am fortunate to live in Ohio, the dealership here is so freaking awesome (Germain Cadillac, ask for Adam!) they buy up ELR's all the time and my buddy works there so I go to see what I may be missing out on. I still say the cosmetics are the only big difference and not worth the price upgrade. My 2014 cue works exactly like the 2016 cues on the ELR i have tooled around with, I think maybe the early VIN ELR's had bogus software or something, i have a later production model one. Android Auto and Apple apps are the only significant difference I can really see which arent a big deal for me-bluetooth streaming is fine for me.
I did buy my ELR from Germain Cadillac in Ohio and had it shipped here to Priusville (Portland) for $1100. It was the best price especially with the CPO status. Yes they were great. The salesguy didn't try and blow any smoke up my rear, he was pretty honest about everything. His name was Steve. I would recommend this dealership for sure for internet sales.

I don't know about the 14 to 16 power and CUE differences because I have never driven a 14, nor played with it's CUE interface, all I know is that it works way better than our 2014 SRX we had - way better. As far as power the 16 has enough power to seem like it's just a fast as my i3 which now has gone to a guy in Seattle. I do not miss the i3 - I love the ELR and liking it way more than I even thought I would. It has enough power where I have spun the wheels a few time getting on it. I certainly don't need any more power than that for a daily driver. :yup:
