Hey fellas, looking at getting a V. I went to the dealer the other day to gather some info...the sedans are sick looking. However, I have been eying the coupes  I didnt like the rear...but its growing on me.

These things look good in pairs for some reason :D

Questions:

How much lighter is the Coupe than the 4-Door?

What other additional benefits come with the coupe?

Thanks in advance fellas!

Kyle

I traded my 09 sedan for an 11 coupe.

I personally prefer the Coupe because I'm alone 99 % of the time. If you have frequent occasion to carry three or more folks, you might want to think about the sedan. Back seat in coupe is not spacious, and the infirm will never get back there.

Their weight is virtually identical. I think the coupe is a tighter ride, but I was comparing 09 to 11, may not be completely fair. One thing I missed personally is a sliding sunroof. Coupe's only tilts.

I don't see you going wrong with either.

I had an 2009 CTS-V and I have a 2010 CTS-V now. My 2011 CTS-V coupe will be here this or next week. After I drove the coupe and saw how much more striking it is in person, I had to have one. Go for the V Coupe. You will love the way it drives and all the attention you will get.

Best part of the sedan is you can find them used if thats an option, save some depreciation. Coupes are too new and haggling is in order to get a fair price. Only you can decide which is going to suit your needs best, I'm very happy with my sedan.

I got GM Preferred on my 2011 V Coupe which was a decent discount without haggling. You have to find the right dealer. If you need a good dealer to work with, let me know. I can give you all their info.

My uncle used to tell us kids to be sure and get the rear of his car extra clean because that was the only part of it that other people on the road were going to see. Maybe his advice will give you some guidance.

The rear of the V Coupe looks awesome! Best part of the car! It will grow on you. When I first saw it in person, I actually hated the V Coupe. Now, I am getting one. That should really tell you something. The V Coupe is a true head turner, while the V Sedan is stealthy. If you don't want attention, go sedan, but if you want people to stop and stare, go Coupe.

Right on, I'm here in St. Louis (St. Charles to be exact). My dad retired from General Motors back in the day. I had asked the sales guy about the GM discount...He said I wouldn't get much "Room" using the GM discount.

Its looking like a Sedan due to the fact I have a 6 year old. And trust me she will want to "Go Fast"...its in the blood :cool2:

Here is his info in case anyone here is interested in ordering a car through him:

James C. Quinn
Les Stanford Chevrolet-Cadillac, Dearborn, MI
313.724.1430 Direct
[email protected]

Ask him for a quote and I am sure the discount at GM Preferred + EVA on a Sedan is significant. Some dealers really suck! You will be pleased with James. Trust me on that. My 2011 V Coupe that is on it's way to me as we speak will be my 3rd new Cadillac through James in 12 months.

-It's the same weight.
What other additional benefits come with the coupe?
-You get 10" wide rear rims instead of 9.5"
-You'll only get wrangled into driving when there is only one other adult
-When you back into things people will "understand"
-If you get a sunroof it's half the size and only pops up, so less likely to shatter :lildevil:
-Significantly less headroom, so you won't be tempted to track it
-You need to move the seat forward to get your stuff/child out of the back seat, which is great for the obliques

In other words you're spending the same amount of money for something that essentially only has negatives from a functional POV.
However if you like the looks of the Coupe better than the Sedan or Wagon, totally get the Coupe. Otherwise not so much...

Huh!! Say what?...The rear of the V Coupe is probably, no, definetley the best part of this car...better take another look my friend.
If that duck-tail ass end styling is the best part of the car, you must really hate the CTS-V.:bighead:

Just like CTS-V Twin said " if you want the attention get the Coupe"....just finished the Woodward Cruise driving my Thunder Gray Coupe due to my Vette rod being out of service and I could not believe how much attention it got. Lots and lots of "man that is a cool car" from other drivers and spectators along the way. Even drew a crowd at Sam's Shell (a local hang out for the Rodders) when I stopped in for gas.......TWICE:lildevil:
