Just FYI :yup:Just bought the wife a 2010 Buick Enclave from my Cadillac dealer. Great condition, great price but it was a rental with 34K miles so I was a little concerned that the factory warranty would run out in 16K miles. Shopped OL for GMPP warranties and found Greg Bell http://www.gmpp-online.com/?page=gmpp_major_guard who seem to have the best prices. Quoted $1205 for 48/48 Major guard with $100 deductible. The dealer wanted $1700+ for the same coverage but when I showed him that I could get it for $1205, he dropped his price to $1255. I paid him the extra $50 because it was just easier to do the package.

Do a search here (and on the Corvette forum), and you will see several dealers who heavily discount GMPP. Black Cadillac Chevy in Ebensburg, Pa; gmoutlet. com--same company; Fitchner Chevy in Montana, etc. There are times when you want CPO; other times, you want GMPP. Allen Black (and Ken Fitchner) will take as much time as you like to assist in recommending one.

Thanks will do
I was hoping I could put Warranty on my salvage title Cadillac but I think I cant.

GMPP warranty prices are tiered by mileage and age of vehicle. I believe the mileage bracket changes at 36K miles.

You must still be under factory warranty to get a GMPP. Certified is six years from in service date which in the case of a 2006, could be in 2005. With a GMPP you can get essentially the same warranty coverage for a much longer period. Of course it is going to cost you big on a almost six year old vehicle.

Is there a mileage limit on CPO or GMPP to add the warranty.
CPO expires at 100k miles or 6 years from 'in service date'. My 2006 CPO expires in September. Personally, I bought a Zurich extension adding another year since I knew 100k is still far off. It didn't cost much since I was buying the CPO from the dealer.

For a 2006 today, GMPP is likely the best option. Of the rest of the alternatives, plans that specify exclusions tend to pay out more than plans that specify what is included. If you like to work on your car and don't mind dealing with 'auto recyclers' you might consider a self-funded plan by putting $100 in a savings account each month; but don't cheat on it.

When I was researching it seems that CPO added about $3000 to the price of a 3 year old STS

Some of this was likely dealer profit added as well on top of everything

Do you think its worth that?
