On 2005 V's, right now you can get $2,000 off MSRP from GM. You can also use $1,000 in GM card rewards.

$3,000 either way. Just make me laugh.

I was considering trading again to get a leftover 2005. Believe it or not a red one this time as I've owned a Black and Platinum one so far. I talked myself out of it and I'm now looking at the Maggie, plus a few other upgades.

Sounds like your keeping her? I'm at 23 days, and need to bring her in next week for the water-pump whine...at least that's what the service boys and I think. So I'll probably be at 25days. How many you accumulate thus far?

Strange though, after they changed the left rear knuckle there has been no clanking/banging/creaking/ect. and I've fallen in love again! I have 12K miles left to really make the decision, but as of now...she's staying.

good luck with the mods...so I assume the intake is staying?

Ace,

After considering everything I've decided to keep her. I'm exploring the Magna Charger but want to do some other upgrades with it. Possible clutch, flywheel, rims. My total out of service days were around 25 I believe. I finally got the NAV fixed where Competition Mode shows and the Personalization Menu works, so everything is finally back to normal. If I can work something out with Damian from Moore I'll have them do the work. We'll see.

BTW: from what I was reading that $2000 on 2005 is not off MSRP... it's a hidden dealer rebate which means that if they sell it to you at invoice they still get $2000 - so theoretically, dealer can sell a car for around $45,000 and still come out flat/ahead.

The rebate is for customers and is on the website. There may be an additional rebate from GM to the dealers that I'm not aware of, but the $2,000 is consumer cash. Here's a full listing of 2005/2006 rebates.

typical - GM is back to their old shiat.

$2000 cash to consumer (thanks for the link)

AND

Manufacturer to Dealer
Marketing Support
$2000 Cash to Dealer start: 10/01/2005 end: 01/03/2006
Restrictions None.

See: http://www.edmunds.com/new/2005/cadillac/ctsv/100380706/incentives.html

... yet the dealer five blocks from my house insists on having me pay a full price (no offense to the early shoppers). I am at wits end. I am finally going to be able to buy my ride next week (been waiting for the down payment) and now I have to hunt again. SIGH. At this point in the lifecycle of the 2005, I would need that car to be dirt cheap to make sense. The 06 is almost here and the one year 'tail end hit' would have to be offset by a major discount up front.

Well with fuel prices going nuts lately, these cars are no longer on the top of everyones shopping lists, even for those who can afford to easily pay the premium, but have just decided they've had enough.

Your exactly right. Look at the resale values for the Dodge Ram SRT-10. $50,000 stickers selling at $35,000. I guess 9 mpg scares of some people. :histeric:
