Apparently, GM thinks CUE is better than Apple Carplay. They are not on the Apple lineup.

Where do you see that announced? I couldn't find any official mention of CarPlay (or Android Auto, for that matter) being included in 2016 Cadillac models.

The trend I summarized is :

2013 => 2014 no mic/siri
2014 => 2015 no 4G LTE, SMS
2015 => 2016 no apple carplay
2016 => 2017 to be continued...

Which 2016 Cadillac model do you drive that has this? It's not in any of Cadillac's documentation that I could find. Are you sure you're not confusing iPhone compatibility or Siri Eyes Free with Apple CarPlay? A photo of the CarPlay screen in your 2016 would clear this up quickly.

Yeah, it is almost three years and still no updates or fixes for my CUE. When will Caddillac release a fix for all the bugs and freezeups?

There are updates to solve the bugs and freeze ups but they were not publicly announced, so you kinda have to go in and complain in order for them to apply the patch. PI1126F is the bulletin number you tell them.

But no feature updates have been released though...

No. Lots of frame changes, bus speed settings from 13-16. You'll have major issues, heck people have issues trying to go from 15-15.5 LOL

Figured as much .... From HMI 1.1 to current is a huge leap in technology. Couldn't expect it to stay the same.

And this, folks, is why the Apples of the world have done us a disservice - they make us think updates are easy. They're very much not.

edit: Now, how to convince my wife that I REALLY need a '16 SRX ...

I think that Carplay, by offering navigation, would cannibalize revenue from Onstar Navigation.

I'm very interested in the question of Apple CarPlay/Mirroring being in the 2016 Cadillacs. It is interesting that there is evidence it is, but yet none of the materials out so far on the 2016 models indicate such.

Just a footnote to this CarPlay/Mirroring... GTPprix mentioned a "ctf car." I was wondering what the "ctf" stood for. CTF is short for Captured Test Fleet. And here is the patent filed regarding ctf.
