glass breakage

i was walking back in from lunch and heard a pop, turned around and the back hatch glass was shattered on my ESV.

i called the dealer and they said there was nothing they could do for it.

then called safelite autoglass and they told me 929 bucks because it has OnStar... :annoyed:

has anyone else had any back hatch glass problems out of the blue like this?

i might could understand if it was 110 degrees outside and it shattered, but rainy and 50 degrees should not cause that.

I'm wondering what having OnStar has to do with the back glass. I'd be calling around and checking other shops or mabye a salvage yard. Do you have glass coverage on your insurance?
