Alright we have a girliest car thread but how about a girliest Cadillac?. Now we all know that Cadillacs (especially the older ones) are mens cars BUT if you had to pick a year/model Cadillac that was the girliest, which would it be?. Lets refrain from using the Cimarron cause its the obvious choice. I say the CTS in non V form.

Tough call... out of all the current models I'd definitely say the CTS as well as the V6 SRX.

Looking at late model Cadillacs I'd say the Catera was definitely a girl's car. Going back even further.. I always saw a lot of women driving the Allante.

And as much as it pains me just because I've always been partial to them, little old ladies seemed to like the Coupe Deville.

LOL! No, that would be the most attention whorish Cadillac.

I dunno, it's tough to decide, Cadillacs just aren't very feminine cars...big cars just aren't girly.

OK, I have to agree that it's the CTS, since I own one. (Actually most of the CTSs I see on the road are being driven by women, so there you are. :alchi:)

Id drive a mary kay DTS.

I mean, honestly, i know my sexuality, i am confident with myself, and i know for a fact, ive driven a girl friends (not as in GF, but just a friend, nothing more) PINK MIATA (daddy got it for her) around, and i had MORE chicks hitting on me with that thing than most people would imagine. I mean, honestly, if you saw a straight guy driving a PINK car, let alone a miata around, and not embarrassed, you know he is confident, secure with his feelings and sexuality, and plain old brave as well.

Its weird but the Miata is a good car to pick up girls. I'm driving a '97. I'm going into the liquor store a few nights ago, a girl (nice looking) says "oohhh, thats the car I want!" (never mind what I said). Constantly getting either "nice car" or "cute car" comments from women. Its a strange nice unexpected surprise. Chicks just dig it!. I am married with children but still enjoy women hitting on me whether its because of a car of because I'm just so damn good looking doesn't matter. :lildevil:

Sorry, but the CTS was not inspired by the Catera, which was largely a rebadged version of the Opel Omega MV6. The CTS is not built on that platform...thankfully. :thepan:

Cimarron Touring Sedan....

oh lol, could be, I just made that up...it's the natural decendant of the Cimarron, but so was the Catera.

Well... nothing quite disarms a woman like a gay man... and only gay men would drive around in a Miata... so the free-flowing compliments make perfect sense... lol.

As far as the acronym "CTS" goes... some say it stands for Catera Touring Sedan while others say it's Cadillac Touring Sedan but officially.. it stands for nothing.. it's just a bunch of letters that fit the new naming scheme Cadillac was converting their model lineup to. The best explanation as to why they chose the letter "C" was just to continue the trend of naming their entry level cars with such.

Either way.. it's still the girliest of Cadillac's current lineup.

CTS. It was the first, and only one that came to mind for a long time. After thinking, the Allante also tops the list, and I see a lot of women in my area driving '90s Devilles ,not that they're 'girlie' though. But yeah... the CTS is at the top. You don't even understand how many women I see driving base level CTS's around.

Touche Caleigh...a lot of girls like the big Escalades all blinged up...

(and it was the ESV that you were thinking of)

If Mary Kay made did a CTS, then that would be it. As for the Escalade, I think the men would prefer a "grit & spit" Chevy 'burb than a nice Cadillac. So the women who keep everything city-like and clean go for them; or a gift from their husbands (or sugar daddies...lol). Especially since we Caddy lovers want to baby our rides; but we all need a beater.

I don't know about you, but I like my Cadillac to be a luxury cruiser, not a wild wart hog. To me the luxury SUVs are kind of a paradox; does anyone else agree? I mean if you have a super nice car that must be waxed polished and never subjected to scratches, inclimate weather, and poor terrain, how are you gonna take advantage of its SUV-ness? I like each, but I like 'em separate, too.

I agree with you completely... which is why I present to you this....

As far as I'm concerned, the original lux-SUV is still the best... not because of the amenities or the technology... but because you can actually the damn thing off-road... that fake wood-grain siding really did have a purpose you know.. it's fantastic for hiding scuffs from the brush.

If the Allante is such a chick car, wouldn't that make the XLR a chick car also? Along with the Eldorado Convertibles?

I think on a whole.. convertibles, especially convertible versions of any car (where there is an option for one) tend to be more appealing to women. Whether that necessarily makes them a chick car is yet to be determined... some are clear cut, like the Beetle... but other's really fall into that gray area.

Take the Allante... is it a chick car because a lot of middle-aged women are/have been seen driving them? I too liked the Allante.. when we just look at the car it's a big, full size convertible with angular styling and a big V8 - to me that seems to be the bastion of a guy's car... so I'm not really sure what about it makes it girlie other than the fact I've seen a lot of women driving them.

Does the simple fact that women are drawn to a particular car necessarily make that car girlie?

A lot of women, especially the "soccer-mom" set seem drawn to big SUVs like the Suburban/Expedition/Escalade/Navigator. Not all that long ago these were seen as 100% man-mobiles... but since being liberated from the mini-van, many women seem to flock to them faster than Pauly Shore to an actual audition.

So that's the big question... does the affinity of women towards a particular vehicle automatically make said vehicle "girlie?"
