Hello Everyone,

Next month will be the first time that id be taking my Cadillac for a trip longer than a few hours. I've treated it with the respect that it deserves for the last three years that i've owned it. I didn't drive it the past winter and had the oil changed just before storage. I'm just over protective about it and i'm not sure what to bring along to ensure comfort and stay safe on the road. The trip to Colorado will be 32 hours round trip. Gas is already looking to be over a few hundred dollars, and if something goes wrong along the way I wouldn't be a happy camper.

Things That i'm bringing:

-Extra gas tank (2 gallon)
-Extra Dexcool
-Extra synthetic oil
-First Aid Kit
-Fuses
-Spare Tire

If you read this and come up with any ideas that would be greatly appreciated.

Buckle up and stay safe,
-DevilleTouringSedan

Very nice!!! Sounds like a great trip already. I have done numerous trips crossing from Miami, Florida into Banff Canada and beyond within 10 miles of Alaska. I always make sure to keep the following items in the car.

1. Current AAA membership
2. I carry duct tape. Duct tape solves everything.
3. Make sure the spare tire has air and is ready to go including a working jack
3. Throw a rag in the car, it can come in handy
4. Extra Oil just in case

DTS? *Definitely* put oil and coolant at the top of your list, and I second the suggestion of thoroughly checking your spare.

Can't wait for the trip, i'm going to have a buddy thats a mechanic take a look at the car before I go on the trip to ensure a good time :).

It seems like to would burn more coolant than fuel :(

I took my 98 SLS from Michigan to Colorado in the first year I had her when it was at 77K miles. It was a great trip, I didn't bring anything extra with me.

In Nebraska I averaged 30mpg!

NOW I'd bring extra oil, and check the spare tire pressure, but I have AAA too now.
