Ok so quick question.

I've seen guys say they installed a shifter and then it was hard to get into certain gears. Where and what do I have to align under the boot? Is there an adjustment DIY guide? Am I going to need to use the search function? :canttalk:

Oh, Im using a Katech shifter if that means anything.

Thanks in advance!

The only problem that I remember reading about is people over tightening the bolt through the bottom of the shifter. I don't believe there is any alignment that can be done.

I use this link to search this forum, it seems to return better results that in the forums search tool. The link uses Google to search the cts-v general/performance and appearance forums, just add your search term in front of what is already there.

I have the same problem. Getting the car into reverse is miserable. I have a B&M and shifting takes away a lot of the fun from this car.
Search the forum! There are lots of threads on installing/adjusting the shifter. So far, I have pulled apart the console from above and re-positioned the 2 mount bolts and loosened the bolt through the bottom of the shifter. This has helped about 20%. I have bought amsoil tranny fluid and will put that in later this week. I'm also considering buying the replacement bushings. So far, my shifter is a work-in-progress. I may look at removing it and replacing with one from pisnuoff.

yup no way to adjust the shiftrer stalk other then the linkage bolt.. motor mounts really changed the way the car shifted for the better. its much smoother now with less drivetrain noise.. rev matching is a breeze now

95% of all shifting problems are corrected with a clutch bleed and trans fluid change. clutch bleed should be done at least once a yr. not sure on trans, prob less if you dont push it or track.... but, do both of these and you'll be surprised, especially with aftermarket/modified shifters... by default their precision exposes issues more than stock, but they also feel waaaay better when all is working smoothly...
