Hello, I recently purchased a 2011 CTS coupe 3.6 with the automatic 6 speed. Very happy love the car. I have kind of an odd question. Are the letters beside the gear selector supposed to be illuminated ? I know the selected gear shows up on the gauge cluster.

They don't come with illumination, but people have added their own, so it can be done if you want it.

No lights. Look in your Tach gauge area for shift indication. There have been a few threads on this, and how-to's.

On a similar topic, for the exact same car, is there any way to make the screen that shows what gear you're in (while in sport or manual mode) to display the current gear all the time? even while just cruising in normal drive mode?
