Can someone tell me how to do a get to the gauges to install an overlay? Do I need special tools.

The best way is to just buy the whole cluster, then it remove the outer dash bezel, tilt the wheel and 4 bolts, 1 plug and your in. I put a platinum cluster in my 04 and love the chrome lined guages. Several nice looking clusters on ebay and at jpcustoms. (forgot on line address)

Sometimes you can find a platinum lense cover cheaper.

If you have to do a complete overlay the was a tool to remove the needes from the pins but be careful the pins are easy to bend. I think jpcustoms has a tool.

For the esv gauge cluster, did you have to re-calibrate anything as far as the speedometer and the odometer? Does the current mileage transfer over to the new cluster? Wanted the platinuim gauges on my 04.

you'll have to take it to the dealer to get the new cluster to show the right mileage and engine hours. other than that, its plug and play.
