Robert , you would be proud. I did a search and came up short , so I am going to ask . What is the average mileage for a 3.6L. I have a 2005 and I am getting between 16.7 and 18.4 , while city driving ,on the cars display . I averaged it out after a couple of fill ups and it seems to be right .

I'm averaging about 17.7 mpg and that's pretty much all city driving. My average MPH for a tank full of gas is around 27 MPH or so. When I get it out on the highway, I get about 23 to 24 MPG doing 75-80 MPH

Wow, I must be easy on mine because I'm getting about 22 for intown driving(50/50 street-rural) and 26 on the highway.

I average 17-20 in the city, 25-29 on the highway. Those wide ranges come from variations in how "spirited" I was feeling through those tanks of gas.

I usually cruise between 75 and 85 MPH on the highway, depending on traffic.

This beats the heck out of my last vehicle, which was averaging 8/13 by the time I got rid of it (Ford Exploder). :annoyed:

My overall average is 23 MPG, but on the freeway doing 80 i get 28 MPG! I was quite impressed!

By the way, here in Germany i do get the LEGAL change to kick it to the floor! Let me tell you that the maximum LISTED speed has been exceeded... I drove 155 Mph and it handles like a babe!

I'm with you, I average about 22-24 mpg in my 3.2L, but I drive mainly on the highway, around 70-80 mph.

Dam, that's FAST. Its a dream of mine to take a long drive on the German Autobahn (sp), heard you can just fly on there.

'05 3.6, 1200 miles on it: 17.5 mpg, avg. speed= 21 mph. Roughly a 70/30 local vs. highway mix. Not bad for an engine that's still breaking in. And the A/C is always running. And I like to play with the sport mode

I have a 40 mile / 45 minute commute each way that is mainly freeway. I set the cruise control at 75 and usually have sport mode on. My DIC average MPG is 24.7. On a recent trip to South Carolina, I averaged 27.5. I've had a Volant for a while and recently added a V exhaust. Average MPG went up about .2 - .3 after adding the exhaust.

FWIW, I have a 2003 3.2L with 76K miles on it and I still get 27-28 highway.

I've had my CTS for 8 months now, and average a solid 27.5 on the highway and 24 around town. I live in eastern washington which is relatively flat. I just came back last week from Vegas and got a solid 29.5 for the round trip (2100 miles). From south of Provo Utah to Boise Idaho I got 31 for my highway miles. I stuck the cruise control on 76 MPH and sat back and relaxed. No complaints about my milage with this car. BTW, I have a 04 with the 3.6.

I have a 3.6 2005 and live in So Cal. At 9,000 miles and freeway mostly commuting, I get 20-22 mpg. I burn regular gas.

It is a great car and have surprised a lot of other "sports sedans" with it.
