01 seville SLS just replaced outer tie rod ends and 2 days later I have a creaking noise coming from the front driver side wheel area. I can actually almost feel it underneath my left foot while Im driving. The noise only seems to occur while turning to the left or while straightening out from a left hand turn. It sounds like some component is under alot of stress and is ready to give. The sound resembles a creaking but almost popping sound effect. When i have the window down and i hit a bump with that tire i hear a horrific clanging noise almost like metal on metal but it started the same time as this creaking noise so im hoping they are related. I once broke a stabilizer bar in the rear and the clanging sounded just like what im getting in the front now. What part or parts might be the problems...please help!

I would honestly take it back to whoever replaced the outer tie rod and say ask them to look at it since they were the very last ones to do any work on it.

I can't see how changing a tie rod end would cause that noise, I've done them before on my other vehicle.

With the way you describe the problem it could be millions of things. The only way you can find what's the cause of the noise is to take off the tire and poke your head around in there. It's very hard to diagnose a noise like that through the forums. Maybe the mechanic forgot to grease the new tie rod end. Maybe he bent something and the tie rod is rubbing it in the conditions you mentioned... I dunno, I cant see it or mess with it through the forums. So, I agree with Iametarq. I would bring it back to the guy who did the tie rod end(s).

It could be your drivers side-rear subframe insulator/bushing. I did a bunch of work to tighten up my suspension and shortly after my subframe bushing started making a popping noise on right turns. I could feel it at my foot which is right where the insulator is located. the insulator was already shot, but tightening up the suspension caused play from other areas to shift to that area. Visually inspect the insulator to see if it is still intact. Mine was pretty chewed up.

How many miles?
