As the poorest Allante owner in Florida I am attempting replacing a fuel pump in my garage. I am open to any suggestions regarding getting the fuel tank out. I bought a replacement pump for 100.00 - Cadillac wanted 400.00 for the whole pick up assembly. I am struggling with this project and need my car operational by tomorrow. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Is your replacement pump new? Considering the amount of work it takes to replace the pump, how critical it is to proper engine operation of your Allante, and how miserable a pump failure can make you, it might make sense in this instance to stay with the proper replacement.
What year is your car? You might be able to get a better deal than $400.00.
One of the major causes of in-tank pump failure, especially on high mileage vehicles, is running out of gas.
