I searched the forum and didn't find this particular issue.
My '97 gets a solid 28 mpg on the highway. It dawned on me after my 2nd 300+ trip my gas gauge will show near empty, but when I'm filling the tank it only takes 11 gallons - I still have close to 7 gallons in the tank (18 gal. tank). After those 315 miles the needle is on the line just above "empty", but I conceivably can go another 180 miles or so before the car is actually near empty. The gauge should only read slightly below half. :cookoo:
I'm thinking the fuel sending unit is the culprit, and not the gauge, but I'm not 100% sure. Have any of you good folks had a similar issue with your Cats? What did it turn out to be?
