I've noticed when just before shutting off the car after a long drive, especially in this hot weather lately, the fuel gauge will read one number and in the morning when we start it up the gague reads a higher number. For example, last night it read 8 gallons and this morning it read 10 gallons.

But ain't this backwards? I would think when the car was hot from the days weather and from driving it, the gas would expand to read a higher number, and at night after the gas cooled and contracted, it would read a lower number.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like my '94. Bought some fuel saver plugs on Ebay, really made a difference. Had to take them out though, if I went into reverce too often the gas tank would over flow.

Sorry about that, old joke. I know!
