So i bought a CTS 07 from an auction and after putting down some work on it and getting it turned on, it now turns on and runs good, just need to get it aligned. But the problems im getting is that the fuel gauge and temp gauge are not working. Also, getting Tract light, ABS, and Key-lock light. Iv been reading up on these forums and all i see is ECM but i called up on a cadillac dealership and the mechanic said that reprogramming the ECM only works half the time and they want to charge 190$ for the reprogramming. I already have a different ECM from another 07 CTS that i have for parts, id just have to get it programmed.
Need some experienced advice, please and thank you. BTW doing the whole pull the fuse and turn the key doesn't work . Tried it .

I have the same issue. I replaced the ECM as well as the BCM. The car will start and run but the keys are stuck in the ignition, the traction control light is on, theft deterrent light is on and the fuel gauge and the temperature gauge doesn't work. I'm really frustrated at this point because it seems like the dealer is only throwing parts at it. It wouldn't start before I had the ECM replaced then after the ECM was replaced now it starts. So I was assured by the dealership that it could only be the BCM. I ordered the BCM from GM and took the vehicle back to the dealership to have it installed. It's there again and they're telling me that nothing has changed. I'm about to pull my hair out with the frustration from this. I am now starting to question the whole key fob issue. Because I didn't get a key fob when I purchase the vehicle so I haven't had a chance to lock it and unlock it with the fob. I would think maybe the dealership would do that just to check it but I haven't asked. Anytime I question the work that they do or offer a suggestion the service advisor states that he has a 25-year GM Certified mechanic with the GM engineers at their fingertips and blah blah blah. It just seems like they can't pinpoint the issue and that's really frustrating. I'm beginning to also think that it may be something in the trunk compartment that got damp or wet. There was a little bit of standing water in the spare tire well. I know that this seems around the trunk can go bad which will that water leak in. I hope that you have a quick fix because I have seen several posts where people have this issue and an ECM fixes at all.

I'm also having the same issue u guys are. Starting to believe this has to do with a cut wire,pinched wire or a bad ground under the dash/steering wheel because for almost 2 years now I have had to move the tilt wheel up and down until I find

the sweet spot for the car to even get power and turn over then have to find the spot after the car is started for the car to shift outta park into gear. When it first started doing it I pulled the panel from under the dash to see if I could find

anything that was pinched or broken and when i did i found a mess of cut and spliced wires from someone putting an aftermarket remote starter on...It was a hacked out mess! anyways i never got around to trying to fix the issue and I got so

good at knowing where to put the steering wheel for it to start and then to take it outta park that it really wasn't that big of an issue to me. I could be wrong maybe this is a whole different issue and isn't related at all but feel like its a good

starting point. I also read in another post with someone having the same problem and believe his issue ended up being water damage to a module in the trunk which is another thing I'm gonna look into because whenever it rains my trunk lid fills

up with water for whatever reason. This car has been a nothing but trouble ever since i bought it!! Hell i even bought my own scan tool because of this pos! eats 1qt of oil every 1500 miles, oil in the spark plug tubes, replace all injectors,coil

pack, spark plugs, sun roof gets stuck open, wheel bearings, timing chains, up to my 5th starter now, window regulators, i could go on but i wont. Let me know if u guys have any luck!!
