I had the same problem with my 1997 Seville. It was caused by a weak battery. Bought a new one and never had the issues again..

Damn, that's been happening to me lately too! I thought I might be bumping the button on the remote while I was turning the ignition. My gas door sticks so I haven't noticed if it was unlocking too.

Freaking battery huh? What next!

My friend had this problem, there was alot of corrosion in the fusebox in the engine compartment, and that caused the fuel door and trunk to open at random intervals when the key was in the ignition (like starting up and running). But it could also be low voltage on the battery :yup:

Weak battery will bring a lot of electrical gremlins, but first it will open trunk & fuel door when you try to start. (voltage goes too low)
