Hi!

In my European Seville -93 there is no bulbs in the side markers..
Does anyone have any picture of how the bulbs look and any suggestions on how I should fit it into my side markers?

Also I wonder if it´s possible to fit the -98 STS light straight on the -93?

Would be great if someone could post some pics of the backside of the sidemarkers and the bulbs.

Se the marked area on the picture.

No, the 1998 will not fit or work on any year prior, only 1998 on.

The side marker lights for that model year were not required in Europe, however the "true" European exports were supplied with front and rear fog lamps as required by law according to the European country of export. There should be no sockets, pigtales, or harness for the side marker lamps. You will need to get them from a US or Canadian salvage yard. If everything is there but the bulbs, I would suspect the car is "gray market". When I write "true", I contend that the automobile was slated for Europe by the manufacturer and was not a "gray market" build.

Additionally, the instrument cluster for the European market is wired differently than those slated for the US and Canada. The clusters are not interchangeable, even though they may look the same.

Alright.. then I know.

I don´t have the wiring in my car, but I could fix that part just if i got to know how the bulbs looked like..

But I´ll look into to get the sidemarkers w bulbs, and contacts to the bulbs from a junkyard in the US.

Can I order the turnsignal lamp from US and fit that into my caddy? I want to have the white glass and use an orange bulb for the turnsignal.

Think this would fit?

Thanks for the help so far.

The sockets and harness should be no problem, but the clear, or white lens might be. I am not aware of an aftermarket part as you describe.

After doing some research I found that the following countries have neither the cornering lamp or side marker lamp harness:
Europe, U.K., Norway/Sweden, Finland, Japan.

I think, (DOH!), that the circuit plugs are not in the harness, but do not know if they would have power, even if they were there. Like I wrote before, the harness for the instrument cluster IS different which stands to reason that the whole front harness may be different.

I am sure you could "make" a set to work, but that would require more than a splice and bulbs. You had better know the capacity of the circuit, and how the computer will react to the change, before you attempt a mod.

That is correct that I don´t have the contacts in my car, this I can solve.

What I need to know is how your bulbcontacts look like.
Will try to get the side markers from a US junkyard, does anyone got good links?

And would these fit on my car? Could I get a picture from the backside of the Headlight assembly on a US car?

Does anyone live near a salvage yard that got caddys, and are prepared to help me to get some stuff to Sweden? The shipping is the easy part!

Tanks for good answers so far!

Hi

I have some simulary questions. Attached you see a pic of my just bought Eldorado, it is a 1993 Model European Version. I want to change the Front lights to white-version and teh Tail-Lights change to red-version, I mean to the US-Version.

Can any body tell me, if on the white and red glasses are an EC-Code, normaly the glasses have a DOT Code (Thats the US-Legimitation) for Europe I need the EC-Legimitation, otherwise it is not legal to change it in Switzerland.

Many thanks for your help.

All the best from Switzerland.

Pascal
