Front Head Restraints not removable?

712 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  91 s-10baja
I searched for help on this, but did not find it, so if somone can find a thread please assist. I can remove the back ones, but for somereason the fronts are not budging. They move up and down and for/aft, but I cant remove them from the seats themselves. I was considering buying new ones, any insight?

just push the little button in and you can take them out completely
The front ones on mine didn't want to come off...so I have up.
It appears there might be a little lock on the other shaft. If you look there is a small hole to stick a paper clip in. I haven't tried it and won't be able to for a few hours. So if someone else could try it, great. If not then I'll post my findings.

Any luck? i just got home, and read this reply...
Sorry for taking so long. But I just got home myself and back with my baby. Mom had the CTS today...

But anyways, I did go out there with a paper clip and put it in the little hole and whala. The head restraint comes out. However, not that easy. It's a two person job. Because you have to press the paper clip in and the other side in at the same time as you are pushing up on the restraint.
