Hi all. Received my new to me 2016 ATS-V Sedan A8, (traded a bolt on 2013 CTS-V coupe) 7250 miles on the Ats-v. .

Love the car so far on my 1st 30 mile drive to work.

Car came from state that had front license plates. FL where I am does not need.

I have color matched bumper plugs for the 2 screw holes in the bumper.
The bottom 2 bolts are thru the black piece right above lower grill. I have the carbon package but does not appear to have anything to do with it.

I've looked up the the lower grill but it seems to be an insert and does not have that upper peice. Want to swap that peice out for a clean no holes one.

Any ideas on a part #, etc

Hate front license plate brackets and their holes!

If no one has an answer for you, maybe try an online retailer like gmpartsdirect or whomever. Lots of these parts warehouses have blow up diagrams that should have the part numbers to help you out.

Living in Florida I definitely feel your pain. I saw an Audi R8 with a front bumper that had the license plate holder molded into the front grill. It was heinous!

Check with the parts department when you are there.

I think the insert above the lower grille is PN 23193508

Exploded view here: https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-parts/gm-molding-23193508

Also, the lane keep assist isn't in Cue... it's a button to the left of the steering wheel, set low on the dash next to the button to turn the parking sensors on and off and below the HUD controls.

If the lane keeping assist button isn't there the car probably doesn't have the safety and security package. If you lift the trunk mat to check the build sticker, look for "UHX" -- that's the code for lane keep assist.

If you want to see exactly how the car is configured, here's the order guide with the RPO codes that will appear on the build sticker:

Thanks. It has the button, but says Lane assist not currently available in the DIC. I thought I read that a lot of those alert features, etc are in vehicle's settings in CUE

The car Def has that package.

Will check out that part #. Thank you.

Lane keeping assist not available could be several things, but often is a camera issue or dirty windshield over the camera.

Anyone put aftermarket tint at the top of the windshield over the camera? Seen that quite a few times...

I don't think so. I'll try and clean camera to see if that helps.

Yes that is the part and yes you'll need to remove the bumper unfortunately. When I bought my used ats-v from NY it had the damn front plate bracket screwed into that front fascia part as well. They put on a new fascia for me when I told them that was a concern. I think they said it was 160 or so. Call your dealer, it might be worth it.

What?? I'm in NY and never had the front plate or bracket installed. :)

Salesman said most V owners didn't want the front plate so they just stuck the kit and plate in the trunk. I have only been pulled once for no front plate in almost 20 years.

When I lived in Ohio, a state requiring a front plate, I had a MGB. I took my front plate off and was ready with my story if I ever got pulled over. I was just going to tell the cop I had a fender bender and when I replaced my front bumper the shop lost my front plate. I (fortunately) never had to tell my story, but it was well rehearsed.

Well I wish the previous owner was like you then haha. I live in PA so no front plate is required. Funny, when the dealer installed the new fascia, apparently the shop guys almost instinctively wanted to install a new bracket again since they are so used to it but my sales guy said NOOOOO.

I have a 2016 ATS-V which I purchased new in Indiana where front license plates are not required. I live in NJ where they are. Like you, I hate the look of front plates. I have gotten stopped a couple of times. Once, I got a warning and the second time I got a $50 fine. It is not a moving violation. I gladly pay the occasional $50 fine for not denigrating the looks of the front of my car. Just a money grab by law enforcement in my opinion. Had the same thing years ago with my 2002 Eldorado which came from PA which does not require front plates. Had the car up until I purchased the ATS-V and over the years that I owned that car, I only had to pay 3 times in 14 years...pretty good track record. :)
