Hello. I couldn't find this in the Bugs and Quibbles forum. I just had my 23 Lyriq at the dealer for the 6 mos maintenance where they performed tire rotation and fixed the harness rubbing problem recall and i told the advisor my car was behaving itself to which he sadly replied " well that's all we can hope for". Today, the Forward Collision System Unavailable" warning light and picture keep popping up. I made sure the sensors are clean. Any advice on this one?

I had this happen twice in my 4 months of owning the car. I have no idea why it happens but it only does it during that specific drive, the notice pops up constantly even when clicking ok, and then when I turn the car off it doesn't happen any more. Maybe the sensors need recalibrating, but for me since it's only happened twice I've let it slide for now.

 

Well this was the first time but strangely albeit happily, it went away after it was parked for awhile. Weird...

 

Happens to many people - myself included. Not clear of confirmed root cause or fix.

 

If persistent, have your dealer check the video processing unit for logs / status / potential programming. Escalate to TAC if they "can't find anything".

 

I had to turn automatic collision off because it was thinking a manhole cover in the street was going to cause a collision

 

Yeah, it is certainly has some false detections. The problem I have is that even if you set it to alert only, you have a collision system unavailable warning icon on all the time. And a text screen also pops up frequently, and likes to spam you when SuperCruise cancels or turns off. Wish that warning didn't happen - fairly annoying and gets in the way of other things.

 

MIne has not come back on in a long time. Other than Intermittent issues with the hatch not opening, mine has been behaving. It's almost scary how trouble free its been😟

 

I had the warning come on and couldn’t use Super Cruise or cruise control. On next start up there was no message and everything worked as normal. Hasn’t happened since.

Ditto, maybe six months ago. But when I wiped dirt off the area that I imagine a sensor is behind, the problem (forward collision system unavailable) disappeared and hasn't come back since.

 

Mine cleared up by itself overnight with no action by me. I chalked it up to "things that go bump in the night" and quit worrying about it.
