Learned this yesterday. Best not to fold the mirrors in due to the build up of snow and ice that then prevents the mirrors from folding out. Possible to reach your fingers in there and dig it out but ultimately much easier to just leave the mirrors extended (as is) and not fold them in.

Along that same line, is there anyway to set the mirrors to fold in when the car is locked from the key fob?

I believe that if you hold the lock button down a second time after you already lock the car it will fold in the mirrors. 1 press to lock the car; 2nd press and hold to fold in mirrors.

Cool! I'll try that! Though I have mine set to just lock when I walk away so I guess it wouldn't do it in that scenario. Thanks!

Let me modify that a bit.....just hold the lock button an extra moment longer and the mirrors will fold.....that said, the issue of the ice is an important one! Also if you have the retractable running boards ( which are wonderful for us old farts ) you MUST clear slush away from the board/body area or they too will be locked in ice!
