Just wondering what is required to replace the front fog lamps on the CTS? I saw all the posts on the license plate lights etc.--and maybe I missed it--but I didn't see any on what it takes to put in some "less yellow" lights . . . Thanks all . . .
Turn your wheels in (different direction for each bulb). For example, turn your wheels to the left to change out the passenger-side, and to the right for the driver-side. Pull out the forward-most bottom clips that hold your black wheel-well covers (inner fenders) in place. Peel back the inner fenders, and you will be able to see the wires leading to your fogs. Pull enough clips out that you can comfortably get your hands in there. Just twist and pull at the base of your fog lamp assembly (like changing any other bulb). Good luck!
I agree with nearly everyone here that the 'yellowish' light from the fogs really detracts from the overall front end lighting experience especially with HID lighting. To that end, I just ordered some of the new PIAA TERA LED H11 lamps. I figured I would try them and compare to the Hoen 6000K bulbs which I also like quite a bit. There is no way the LED's will be as bright although PIAA claims a very bright and super-white (6000K) LED. I should have them in a couple of weeks and after I get them installed, I'll take some pics so you all can compare. The benefit here is the very low power draw and virtually no heat output as well as 100,000 hours of life.
