Car thieves are pretty tech savy these days. Over the past couple years we've had quite a few (myself included) in the neighborhood who have had their cars remotely opened and combed through, Any suggestions on how to go about blocking remotes from cloners? Most common solution/suggestion coming up in a google search is to use a faraday pouch, pocket or box. Does anyone have experience with this preventative strategy or know of a better approach?
A cheaper and tested alternative is to make your own rfid blocker. Just take a tall can of beer or pop, carefully cut the inner top off. Leave the outer ring for strength. File away any burrs. Hang it somewhere safe and drop your fob in it. I use a different can for each of my fobs.
